Beach Week

My friend Lynne has a beach house at Ocean Shores. It is located on one of the canals. We stayed here for a couple nights and had a lot of fun. We took the row boat down the canal (David got to fish for my flip flop which I dropped in when climbing into the boat), the kids loved to play in the "beach" they've created off the deck, and Grandma and Papa came one night too.

It was a little chilly, especially compared to the 100 degree temperatures we left behind. Alec got comfortable with his book out on the deck.

Hannah built lots of sand castles.

The store entrance to "Sharkeys" was definitely the best thing about the store!

Alec's favorite pose

On to Westport . . .
We love the Woodwards' condo. The view is beautiful and the grounds of the complex are so nice. Though we never saw a bit of sunshine on our trip, the temperatures were comfortable and we swam A LOT. Though I kept wishing for sun, it was nice that we had the pool to ourselves most of the time.

What a difference after this year's swimming lessons. The kids no longer have to stay in the shallow end! Yea! My favorite night was when we went swimming and to the jacuzzi "after hours." Alec was uncomfortable about breaking the rules so we didn't stay as long as we might have liked, but it was so relaxing.

Jones is supposed to be a lap dog but he is a bigger than your average Cavalier and it is hard to fit him on your lap. Papa always manages to find a way to hold him and Jones loves it.

David's very favorite activity - building a sand fort (under Alec's supervision).

Alec begged Grandma and Papa to stay another night but they wouldn't!
(I don't think there are enough good restaurants in town for Grandma.)
Alec plopped down in the sand on our way back from the beach and asked me to take a picture of him and Jones.

Hey, you're at our place! Your weather looks better than what we've had here so far. During winter we always break the jacuzzi rules. But this week has been too busy and there's always a ton of adults there. Colin was bummed!
