Yum. My favorite kind of cake - German Chocolate.
Last Tuesday was my birthday and David made me a cake. He did a really nice job - it looked great and was so delicious. The next day my mom brought me my favorite homemade almond pastry, dinner for the night, and my own order of cajun fettucini (one of my very favorite dishes), which she got from a restaurant all the way in Edmonds. What a treat! I hate to think how much I gained last week though!

{3/52} Ocean Shores

The Walls planned a family get-away to their beach house this weekend. We drove down Friday evening and stayed until Sunday. We and the Baker family stayed with Lynne, Eric, and Everett. Five other couples joined us for dinner and games on Saturday night. It was a very full house. We had a really great time!
Saturday evening the kids went into the "club house" and played games. Then they chased each other around outside with flashlights. Even though Hannah was the only girl, she joined right in and just as much fun.

Eric took the kids on a ride down the canal. Alec got the prime seat in one of the deck chairs. The weather was cold, but we were happy that there wasn't any rain.

Everett provided a lot of entertainment for the kids!

Whenever we go to the ocean and drive through Abderdeen we have to stop at the Star Wars shop where there is lots of old memorbilia. It is also very expensive. Lately, I've opted to stay in the car and let Alec and David go in on their own. Not really my kind of shopping!

{2/52}

On Saturday the Wall and Baker family came over for dinner and games. We played a lot of "Band Hero" and had a great time!

Some people do "Project 365" where they take a picture a day and post-it. That would be impossible but I think "Project 52," posting at least one picture per week is do-able. (Thanks for the idea Monica!) Here is the first of 52!
I took Alec to a birthday party so David took Hannah on an outing. She has been wanting to try ice skating so here she is out on the ice for the first time. It was harder than she thought it would be, but she is up for doing it again soon.

Happy 2010!!!

It was a loud New Years Eve - LOTS of fireworks and kids going crazy with their noisemakers! We rang in the new year with the Moulton, Gustin, and Wellbourne families. I loved the tradition that Michelle's family has that they shared with us. She brought all this wrapping paper, garland, and other fun stuff to make New Year's hats. The kids loved it (and so did the adults). We ate good food, played games, and just had a really good time. We all made it well past midnight and the kids are just waking up now at 10:40! Here's to a great new year!

All the fun stuff to make the hats.
