Who knew staying in Bellevue overnight would be so much fun?! Last year my parents took us to Disneyland for Christmas. Well, we couldn't do that again but because they know how much fun the kids have when they are together, they planned an overnight at the Hyatt for us. The kids and Dads saw "Bolt" and we shopped! Papa took the kids back to the room often where they just loved to play. We had dinner together at California Pizza Kitchen. We were anticipating the big show we had heard about. We bundled up and got a good place along the street with lots of other people. Rudolph and other winter friends came down the sidewalk and handed out candy. Then we waited and waited for the parade. There were songs and drummers positioned up and down the street but we still kept waiting for the parade to start. And then it was over and we were still waiting for it to begin. I guess it just wasn't what we were expecting! The grand finale is supposed to the fake snow that comes down. Well, the real snow trumped that! Sunday we took the kids to see Santa, did some more shopping, and then headed home over the icy roads. It was a very fun time and hopefully the start of a new tradition.
